Stocking Up

I have a lot of diapers already, but my goal is to have 3,000 on hand by the time the baby gets here. I'm almost 1/3 of the way there. I am estimating going through 10 diapers a day over the course of a year. I'm sure there will be more or less here or there, but I am just averaging. Of course I have to have a control-freak spreadsheet to track them all!

  1. I'm all for preparedness but you don't know what size your little one will be and for how long. I think you'd be WAY better off having a diaper savings account. Right now my little guy only goes through 5 or 6 diapers a day. And he didn't wear #2 or #3 for very long. I'm sure my guy didn't wear more than 500 #3's and #2's. He just grew really fast through those stages. Impressive chart for sure! But I think you might end up with a bunch of diapers you don't use.

  2. OH, and what brand are you buying??? My son leaks though any diaper but Pampers baby dry. It was so frustrating when he'd wake up soaked through... change all the sheets, clean up the pee soaked baby, wash more clothes, ugh!

  3. I've bought a variety of Pampers, Huggies and Walgreens brand. I am hoping babe will be ok with any. I should be able to exchange for another size/brand if what I have doesn't work out. I came up with those figures by searching other blogs, so I really have no idea what to expect there. Thank you for the advice!
